Investors’ Wealth Exceed Rs 3 Lakh Crore on Dec 7; Nifty in Green: Details Here


By Malvika Gurung — Amid bullish market sentiments and the RBI’s decision to keep key interest rates unchanged in the Monetary Policy Committee meet on December 8, the investors’ wealth has increased over Rs 3 lakh crore in Wednesday’s morning trade hours, states a PTI report.

Dalal Street opened in green on Wednesday, following positive cues from global markets after reports of the Omicron variant not being as virulent as the Delta variant did the rounds. The Indian equity benchmark indices are seen sustaining the momentum, as was trading 1.67% up, and 1.65% higher at 1:47 pm on Wednesday.

The market capitalization of the stocks listed in BSE gives a notion of investors’ wealth; it climbed over Rs 2.63 lakh crore, indicating a surge of more than Rs 3 lakh crore in investors’ wealth in early trade hours today.

Additionally, banking stocks were witnessed trading in the green after RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee decided to keep the repo rate fixed at 4% for the ninth time in a row, along with voting the RBI to retain its accommodative stance. The reverse repo rate and bank rate were kept unchanged too at 3.5% and 4.25%, respectively.

Banking indices and were last seen trading 1.7% and 1.9% higher, respectively.
